About the event:

The Yale Club of London is happy to announce the details in relation to our 10th anniversary Christmas Dinner, and we hope you will save this date in your calendars so that you can join us.

We will gather on the evening of Tuesday, 3rd December for a festive dinner at the Polish Hearth Club, which is located at 55 Exhibition Road (SW7 2PN) in Knightsbridge.

This year we have chosen to arrange the dinner in a buffet format provided by the Club, which we hope will provide a bit more of an interactive environment this year. As such, you just need to register for the dinner, and will not need to choose a dish this year. Please note that a vegetarian option will be provided as a component of the buffet.

About the Speaker:

We are also pleased to announce that we will be joined by Anne Applebaum PC ’86 as our guest speaker this year. Anne is the Director of Political Studies at the Legatum Institute in London, and a columnist for the Washington Post and Slate. After graduating from Yale University, Anne was a Marshall Scholar at both the LSE and St. Antony’s College Oxford. Anne’s journalistic work focuses on US and international politics, with a particular focus on economic and political transition. Her recent and best known book, Gulag: A History, won the 2004 Pulitzer Prize for non-fiction. Last year, Anne took up the post of Philippe Roman Chair in History and International Affairs at the LSE, and is the first woman to ever hold this position.

The cost of the dinner (which remains unchanged from last year) is:
Class of 2004-2013 -- £30

Class of 2003 and earlier -- £45

The price above includes the cost of dinner, wine, and other goodies with the meal. The pre-dinner drinks are not included in this price, but there is a cash bar that will be available to all in the same room where dinner is served.

Cancellation Policy: No refunds if a meal registration is cancelled after 4pm on Thursday 28 November.
