The YCL AGM 2014

The 2014 AGM and Welcome Party was held on Monday, 22 September at the East India Club – not only was the event oversubscribed, but as like last year, a good half the attendees were members who had never attended another event, or had not done so in some time.

Our next management meeting will be held on Monday, 03 November (more details in the event listing below). Come see what we do and give us your thoughts on what we should do. Very casual. Drinks and snacks included.

YaleWomen London

With over 60 YaleWomen gathering together at Renata Cesar’s welcoming home on 23 September, the inaugural event of YaleWomen started off with a bang. There was a contagious energy in the room and a strong consensus that more gatherings like this would be welcomed and appreciated.

We had members attending from one of the first classes to include women at Yale to recent 2014 graduates – and everyone intermingled. Myself, Renata Cesar (Yale International Alliance), Beatrice Spengos (Art Circle), Alice Shyy (Young Alums) and Denise Holle (YCL Treasurer) made a few remarks both welcoming everyone and describing all the possibilities that YaleWomen have to offer. The general agreement is while there is an interest to put smaller groups together for book clubs, supper clubs etc, more wider social events like the inaugural event would be the most welcomed.

So in the light of that, please stay tuned for details of the next event which will happen in the last week of November at a central London location.  -- Karen Go (SY '99)
