Directed by Alexandra Renzetti and written by Lanna Joffrey - both Yale Graduates -, Valiant will be previewing at Theatre 503 on the 23rd and 24th July at 9pm. Seats are limited for this show so book your tickets soon. There will also be an opportunity to meet the cast and crew of Valiant after the show in the Latchmere Pub.

About the Show:

Directed by Yale Graduate, Alexandra Renzetti, Valiant is a powerful verbatim theatre piece chronicling the role of women in war. From victim to perpetrator to peacemaker, from Afghanistan to Japan, meet 13 women who have fought, struggled and survived through a century of conflict. Adapted for the stage by Lanna Joffrey from the book of verbatim interviews, Valiant Women in War and Exile by Sally Hayton-Keeva, this new piece of writing explores the perspective of 13 women and how war has shaped their lives and subsequently our own. Most of us know the history of war as men see it; in Valiant, women have their say.

Valiant was previously performed at the New York International Fringe Festival in 2005, where it received rave reviews, as well as being nominated for the New York Innovative Theatre Award and won the New York International Fringe Festival Overall Excellence in Performance Award. This revival, 10 years after the first viewing, will once again star adapter Lanna Joffrey.

Handan Productions is a new theatre company dedicated to making thrilling, visceral and gritty theatre that's accessible to all. Producer Hannah Johnson has over 5 years’ experience at the Edinburgh Fringe, with previous successful productions of Don Juan In Soho by Patrick Marber,Virtuous Flock, and Hold Up Your Tale (N10 Productions), all of which gained sell-out audiences and two of which received London transfers to the Arcola Theatre (Virtuous Flock, 2010; Hold Up Your Tale, 2013).
