Exceptional Women Entrepreneurs -
Daring to be successful

About the Event:
Join us at the Lansdowne Club for and intimate evening of storytelling, discussion and drinks with a spirited panel of leading female entrepreneurs.  Hear them talk openly about their different paths to success and get a chance to meet one another in an inspirational setting.  The Event is open to both Yale and HEC alumni and their guests, so do please feel free to bring your colleagues.

The Lansdowne Club was the first club in London to accept both women and men as members since 1935!

Please note: the Club dress code, etc.

About the Panel:

Margaret Milan is an entrepreneur who grew up in the UK and has lived in France for over 30 years. She began her career at Procter & Gamble, before founding  Eveil& Jeux (now Oxybul), the leading French e-commerce site and retailer of educational toys. She and her partner sold the company to Fnac in 2001, returned in 2006 to lead the digital and omnichannel transformation, then sold to ID Group end 2010. Today she is on the board of two mid-sized firms and accompanies several start-ups in the consumer arena. Margaret is a co-founder and former president of PWN Global, a leading network for professional women in Europe with 4000 members in 20 countries. She has worked to promote entrepreneurship and gender balance over the past fifteen years, and is co-director of the book “Gender Balance, When Men Step Up” published in March 2016. She has degrees from Warwick university (Engineering) and Harvard business school.

Pip Jamieson is the Founder and CEO of The Dots - www.the-dots.co.uk, think LinkedIn for the creative industries. Named as one of Australia's top female entrepreneurs Pip has spent the last 13 years immersed in the creative industries, including executive roles at MTV Australia and New Zealand. Pip lives on a houseboat with her husband in Kings Cross, London. She can be found on Twitter @pip_jamieson and on The Dots https://the-dots.co.uk/pipjamieson

Laetitia Puyfaucher founded Pelham Media Ltd, an editorial communication group, in 2000. Today one of the leaders of the field, it gathers three agencies, WordAppeal, L’Éclaireur and KCO. Laetitia was awarded the 1999 Nico Cochelster Prize by The Economist and the Financial Times, the Trajectoires HEC au Féminin 2011 Prize. In 2013, she was also named one of the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders. A HEC Paris, LSE, Sciences Po Paris and Sorbonne graduate, Laetitia co-wrote “Le média humain”, a book about the dangers and opportunities of social media for corporations. She takes part in the Montaigne Institute’s research. Laetitia is also a member of the board of Compagnie Lebon.

Alice Shyy is a founder of Giggypop, a website inviting you to build sustainable connections at remarkable events. She graduated from Yale and Cambridge with humanities and social science degrees, and learned nothing obviously practical. That did not stop her from running an education small business for over three years, paving the way to work for someone else's education tech startup. She accidentally won Startup Weekend with Giggypop along the way, recently completed Techstars's Startup Next pre-accelerator (think "bootcamp for baby companies"), and now is working on Giggypop full-time. Ask her about the TechNation Digital Business Talent visa--she loves that.

The panel will be moderated by Ludovic Blanc, Founder and CEO of BLANC (www.blancclean.com), he co-founded the entrepreneurs network Start Me Up in 2012, and is currently leading the effort to create HEC’s own Entrepreneurship Hub in the UK.
