'A Lie of the Mind'
by Sam Shepard
Followed by a post-show Q&A
with members of the cast and crew

America. The great wide open.

Two families torn apart by more than one brutal marriage. Out of this bleak landscape emerges a human spirit that burns bright.

At heart a love story, this poetic and gritty play explores the ambivalence of family relationships, of love lost and found, against the backdrop of a macho American West.

Defibrillator’s production immerses you in Shepard’s world and features live music from acclaimed composer and musician James Marples.

‘Gethin Anthony and Alexandra Downling give extraordinary performances … go see’ ★★★★★ The Times

‘A bruising love poem’ ★★★★ Time Out

‘Sherpard’s exploration of family life is played out by a strong cast’ ★★★★ Theatre Weekly

Skyler Ross ('16) is Assistant Producing this arresting piece of Americana by one of the United States' most powerful playwrights.  Focusing on one strained marriage' impact on two families, the play features an all-star cast that includes Gethin Anthony (Game of Thrones).  We are pleased to have secured discounted tickets for our members once again, and look forward to seeing you both at the show and the post-show Q&A with ???
