About the Event:
Come join the US Alumni for the launch of 1-800-HOME, a new non-partisan initiative in support of the US Foreign Service. Our guest of honor will be Ron Packowitz, the Head of American Citizen Services at the US Embassy in London.
From study abroad students to long-time residents, American Citizen Services (part of the Consular section) provides much needed services while also taking care of Americans in difficult situations.
Come & celebrate the work of the oldest agency in the US government and the dedication of its men and women who help keep Americans safe over a glass of wine at the beautiful Women's University Club in Mayfair.
Cost to attend is £1% and includes 2 glasses of wine.
About the Organisation:
1-800-Home is founded by Carol Madison Graham, a Georgetown University alumna with an undergraduate degree from the School of Foreign Service and graduate degrees in Arab Studies and History. She worked as a USA Foreign Service diplomat in Tunisia, Lebanon, France, UAE and briefly in Bahrain and Cyprus. After the Foreign Service, Carol turned to international education as Executive Director of the US UK Fulbright Commission (the only American ever appointed) and then subsequently for six years as Commissioner of the Marshall Scholarships. Carol currently lives in London and continues to work in international education on the secondary and tertiary level and is currently Vice Chair of the Carnegie UK Trust.
