About the Event:

YCL is organizing a drinks reception to meet and greet The Yale Bookends, an experimental theatre group made up of four current Yale undergrads.  They're in London this summer as part of the Camden Fringe Festival to perform their production of "Phaedo", an adaptation of Plato's Phaedo and Apology exploring Socrates' final days before his death.

They will be performing at the Etcetera Theatre.

For ticket information: https://camden.ssboxoffice.com/performances/phaedo-2/

The drinks event will be a wonderful opportunity to hear about the troupe and the current art scene at Yale.  Please do come along to say hi and to network with other YCL members.

Registration
The event is free, but please register so that we can have an idea of numbers and book an area in the pub to accommodate the group.

About the Event:

Harper Lee's enduring story of racial injustice and childhood innocence has sold 45 million copies worldwide. This Pulitzer Prize-winning novel has seen many adaptations over the years including an Academy Award-winning film and multiple adaptations for the stage, and now the latest Broadway production is making its West End debut.

This new adaptation of the classic novel by West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin sees things in a different light. Don’t expect Atticus to be the shining beacon of virtue you have always known him to be. The show opened at Broadway’s Shubert Theatre in December of 2018 to great critical success and has earned 9 Tony Award nominations, a Drama Desk Award and an Outer Critics Circle Award. Since it began performances on Broadway the production, before Covid, played to packed houses and has become the most successful American play in Broadway history.

The West End transfer will star Rafe Spall as Atticus Finch.
