About the Speaker:
Scott Moeller (TC ’76, SOM '78) has worked in and around the M&A industry since his graduation. He started with Booz Allen & Hamilton, then Morgan Stanley (NY, Tokyo and Frankfurt) and finally with Deutsche Bank (in London, where he has lived since 1996). He re-entered academia in 2002 and is currently Professor in the Practice of Finance and Director, M&A Research Centre at Cass Business School, City University London where he teaches and researches M&A. He also sits on several corporate boards and is an advisor to the UK government on changes in the UK takeover policy. Scott is a frequent commentator on M&A deals in the press and on TV (BBC, CNBC, Bloomberg, etc). He has written a number of books and articles on M&A, including the popular 'Surviving M&A: How to make the most of your company being acquired' (Wiley, 2009). It is this book which will also serve as a topic of discussion, as it covers the personal side of M&A in terms of what an individual should do to reduce the likelihood of being made redundant following a merger or acquisition.
