Nixi is Hon. Prof. Research Fellow at the University of Glasgow, having previously held posts at SOAS University of London and the Royal Academy of Arts. In 2007-2017, Nixi was Director of the Arts of China MLitt and PhD programmes at Christie's Education/University of Glasgow. At Yale she read East Asian Studies, then studied Chinese painting, Buddhist art, and European Romanesque art at the Institute of Fine Arts, NYU. Her current research interests include: Qing art, especially during the Qianlong reign (1736-1795); collecting and antiquarian practices in the Qing, Republican and Manchukuo periods; and contemporary Chinese visual culture.
